Our Leadership & Organization
Rabbi Cantor was born and raised in Richmond and graduated from the Yeshiva of Virginia. He studied Torah at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Israel, received a BA in philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University, and semicha from Rav Chaim Ozer Chait. He previously taught gemara at the Yeshiva of Virginia and most recently served as the Director of the Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus (JLIC) at Johns Hopkins University.
Rabbi Cantor and his family are thrilled to be in their hometown, Richmond!
In addition to his role with RJLE, Rabbi Cantor serves as a co-host for JLIC’s Torat JLIC podcast, as well as a translator for Koren Publishers.
RJLE is an independent organization offering everything from Basic Judaism to Advanced Talmud with classes, small-group, and one-one-one study. These classes are led by Rabbi Cantor, and are made available to all, regardless of background.
We welcome donations and other financial support.
